Dr Loh Seong Feei managed my third pregnancy

I called Dr Henry Cheng first when I spotted. They had closed and I realised that I wasn't even given any emergency number to call.  I was so stupid that I had not asked them for an emergency number. I searched online but to no avail. Desperate, I told my husband to go down to the clinic to check. He said that there was an emergency number on the door. After calling the number, he managed to talk to Henry C. He told my husband to ask me to rest and see him tomorrow morning when the climic opened. Lost, I decided to call my friend who was also on clomid with another doc, Dr SF Loh and conceived successfully with him.

The only fertility specialist - Prof PC Wong that I trusted was still away in a conference. I was disappointed with Dr Henry Cheng for not wanting to see me now. I remembered previously that my spotting had turned into a fountain of blood that very night. That fear propelled me to think of other solutions.

That was why I went to Thomson AnE. Dr SF Loh did not attend to me personally but he did give the permission for the nurse to give me the progesterone shot when I requested for it. He would be scanning me the next day. I was very relieved that I was given the shot because I had always suspected that if I had been given the shot earlier, I might not have bled out my embryo. I had also heard from friends who had spotted managed to save their babies because they had been given progesterone shots. I heard that it was very painful. I braced myself for the sharp pain but it never came. It was only a dull pain that was very bearable. Maybe my threshold of pain was high.

Dr SF Loh was the head of KK fertility department before moving to open his private clinic in Thomson Medical. He had excellent bedside manners. He scanned and told me that the sac measured only 3mm. Oh gosh, for the first time, we saw something on the monitor. He told us that it didn't look good because by right, it should be bigger but maybe still possible if we had intercourse on the last date that I remembered. He scheduled us for another scan a week later. He asked me whether I wanted to do a beta HCG test. I told him of my bad experience and he also agreed that it was not necessary since we could track the size of the sac to determine the viability of the pregnancy.

I went downstairs to look for Dr Xia Ai Wei and told her I was spotting. As a TCM physician, she didn't even prescribe anything!!!!!! I asked her for medication but she said just take what Dr SF Loh had given me. I suspected it was due to the fact that her clinic was located within a hospital so they couldn't prescribe medicine that was not supported by medical science during a pregnancy!

After this experience, I advise all mothers not to go to a TCM clinic that is situated in a hospital because of the lack of support given. I also advise all mothers not to go to clinics in HDB if you are having a complicated case because at least a hospital has AnE services and the procedures are smoother if the doctors' clinics are situated in the hospital itself.
