Improve menstrual cycles - Stress Management and natural remedies for allergies

Since stress leads to histamines released and increase in cortisol which would affect the menstrual cycle which would affect fertility, I shall do a post on stress management because I cannot simply tell myself "be good girl, don't stress k?"

First I will look at it from a spiritual point of view. How to have joy?

Proverbs 15: 13
A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

Proverbs 17:22

A cheerful heart is good medicine. A crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 18:14

The human spirit can endure in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?

Psalm 34:18
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 147:3

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

So, we understand now that a joyful heart is the key to a healthy body. How do we go about allowing God to heal the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit?

If your heart has been broken due to a relationship, I found a website that recommends four spiritual ways you can do. I thought that the four ways could be applied to any situation. I am not 100% convinced that these ways are the answers though. What if we do all these and we still feel the same? Should we keep repeating the steps?

1) Surrender to God. Read bible daily.
2) Confess your sins.
3) Avoid slander to validate your feelings.
4) Release grace

Faith, hope, and love——this is God’s medicine for shattered spirits. This is the healing touch of the God of galaxies and broken hearts, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Of all three, my favourite is hope. It gives me the strength to move on. But the bible says the greatest of all is love.

I also found a website suitable for meditation.

A broken heart is different from a crushed spirit.

"There is a big difference between having a broken heart and having a broken spirit. We can handle a broken heart, but a broken spirit takes the wind out of your sails. It takes the wind of the Spirit out of your relationship with God."

Now let's move on to the natural remedies for stress management and allergies

  • Adopt a positive attitude instead of a negative one
  • Adopt a healthy diet. I will post on food therapy in my next post.
  • Find out the cause of the stress and try to reduce it
  • Make a schedule to manage your time and deadlines
  • Sleep before 11pm
  • Stop your thoughts when they start to spiral into a worry
  • Speak up and do not bottom up your feelings
  • Ask for help
  • Exercise
  • Have a hobby
  • Learn ways to relax your body
I have italic those ideas that are easy to accomplish and within your control. It is easy to identify the source of stress but difficult to reduce it because I find that usually we are stressed when we are put in situations whereby we feel out of control. If we can't control it, how do we reduce it? This advice sounds too vague. Sometimes when we speak up, the advice given by other people especially loved ones make your blood boil more and in the end more stressed. Ask for help? It is difficult to gauge when and who to ask for help.

Next, I shall talk more about food therapy.
